Dear colleague!
The International Vygotsky Fund and Vygotsky Psychological Institute of Russian State University for Humanities together with Krasnoyarsk Refresher Course in Education invite you to take part in International Summer School (Conference) titled "Game methods of teaching of children and adults". This conference is held onboard of the cruise ship "Alexander Matrosov" during cruise on the river Enisey from Krasnoyarsk to Dudinka (Russia) and back. The cruise will take place from July, 30 till August, 9, 2001.
The main subject of the conference is placed in context of the cultural-historical approach and closely connected with its theoretical basis and methods. Therefore, the Summer School is strongly recommended to researchers interested in Vygotsky's theory. Our Conference is addressed not only to psychologists, but also to people who work practically in the sphere of education and to everybody who works with problems of game and learning.
The focus of the conference will be on theoretical issues regarding game and teaching. There will also be a focus on practical applications of games in education and teaching on the whole. Within the framework of declared subject the following questions are proposed for discussion:
The organizers plan various forms of work on this subject such as: reports, discussions, round tables, trainings, workshops, lectures, seminars. If you are interested in offering a short lecture (20 minutes) on some aspect of the game or game methods in education, theoretical or practical research results, or descriptions of using the game in the classroom, you are welcome to do it. In this case please send in your abstract or title of your lecture by April 1, 2001. Please, keep in mind that participants should speak English or Russian.
If you are interested in participating in our conference, please inform the organizers about it (lesika17@mail.ru or use addresses found below). We will send you information about conference, visa help, cultural program and any other points.
Participants will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. There will be room for only 25 Western participants. There will not be one large group accepted from a single institution, in the hopes of having a broad range of participation.
Unfortunately we have no grants and no possibility to pay a part of your expenses, so you are responsible for all payments. One comfortable place on shipboard of "Alexander Matrosov" costs $600 for the whole cruise (July, 30 - August, 9). An airflight from Moscow to Krasnoyarsk costs $180, and takes 4,5 hours.
We hope that the International Psychological Summer Conference (Summer School) will interest you and will appear reasonably useful. We are waiting for your response with questions, proposals, etc.
You are welcome to participate in our Conference!
