Opening of the second edition of the international doctoral program ARGUPOLIS
Co-organized by the Università della Svizzera Italiana, the University of Lausanne, the University of Amsterdam and the University of Neuchâtel, a second edition of the international and interdisciplinary doctoral program "Argupolis" is opening now (description attached here).

Argumentation is advanced within a context in order to change it, but it is, at the same time, affected by this context. the proposed program extends the knowledge the students have of the social contexts they are studying and deepens their understanding of the role argumentation plays in these contexts. In addition, it offers more precise and context-adapted methodologies for analyzing and evaluating argumentation in its dialectical and rhetorical aspects and for gaining a better understanding of how argumentation can be instrumental in achieving (and possibly modifying) the institutional and personal goals of communication in the contexts concerned. Argupolis II will create an interdisciplinary network of excellence with regard to argumentation in context.
