Bernd Fichtner, Dr. phil is Professor for General Pedagogy at University of Siegen and director of the International Doctorate in Education University Siegen and the Vygotskij Institute Sao Paulo Braszil. He is co-founder of the International Society for Cultural and Activity Research (ISCAR) and editor of "Internationale Studien zur Tätigkeitstheorie" (Internation Studies in Activity Theory) and of the series Kulturen des Lernens (Cultures of Learning). His research interest encompass cultural-historical educational science, historical and systematic studies of basic concepts of educational science, and intercultural cooperation in educational studies.
